Pupil Parliament

We believe our students should be given the opportunity to practise and develop leadership skills and for their voice to be heard.  Our School Parliament consists of a student representative from each class. Kallum has been elected as Prime Minister and Ben as deputy; they are supported by our MPs Dylan, Keaton and Seth. They meet once every two weeks to discuss different aspects of school life and help make positive changes in the running of the school. Through this process, we are supporting democracy; freedom of speech and tolerance in order to promote British Values.

Aims and what we want to achieve:

• To make the school a happy place to learn;

• To allow pupils to share ideas and help make decisions about school life; and

• To make school a better place for everyone.

How successful has our parliament been?

•On Friday, 24th March 2017 we supported Red Nose Day and raised £55.50 for this worthy cause.

•On Friday, 17th February 2017 the Parliament organised a very successful cake sale and non-uniform day. £100.83 was raised for games and equipment for playtimes.

•On the 9th December 2016, the School Parliament helped to organise a raffle for our Christmas Fayre. The money we raised was for New Hope; a local charity that offers a Saturday and holiday club for children with special needs.  We raised £230 for them and £100 for school, by having a cake stall, pin the nose on the reindeer, a tombola and Christmas gift stall.
