Each class teacher has the opportunity on a daily basis during morning / afternoon form periods to work through certain parts of this subject.
Pupils also follow a scheme of work tailored to meet the needs of KS2, KS3 and KS4. Additionally, the opportunity to complete an Entry Level 3 P.S.D AQA qualification is being looked at in Year 9.
Many areas of the P.S.D program are also now being undertaken by our Learning mentors when they do Mentor sessions with a class or interventions 1 to 1 with specific young people.
Topic areas include: Personal Action Planning; Sex and Relationship Education; Personal Finance; Emotional Well-being; Healthy Lifestyles; Drugs Education. Being Safe; Making Informed Career Choices; Introduction to Diversity, Prejudice and Discrimination; Being a Critical Consumer.
A variety of teaching and assessment methods are integrated into the learning opportunity to meet the diverse needs and preferred learning styles of the pupils.
